My God has always been with me,
Through each and every day.
I tried to pretend I could not see,
And did things my own way.
I went to church and read His word,
Taught my kids that He does care.
But often times my faith was weak,
And I didn't make time for prayer.

Then one day God changed my life,
He gently nudged my heart.
"It's time my child to give me more,
I need you all not part."
I knew He'd always been with me,
I felt such guilt and shame.
I know I don't deserve my God,
But He loves me just the same.

It's hard for me to understand,
Just why He stayed with me.
But the words in His book are very clear,
With you I will always be.
At times I am just speechless,
At the wonder of God's love.
He 's never turned away from me,
He watches me from above.
